About GnomeYoga
Hello, traveller! GnomeYoga is a 100% free, illustrated guide to yoga: more than 300 yoga poses, props, ready-made flows, and a complete yoga sequence creator, all in one mossy corner of the internet. No pressure, no performance, just a gnome who wants you to breathe a little easier.
The real story
GnomeYoga started at a family dinner table, sort of. I'm Nils, and yoga runs in my family. My sister Julie has practised for more than 15 years and runs her own yoga centre in Brussels, Santosha, with a whole crew of teachers who fill it with classes. My dad, Thierry, has been teaching for over 45 years (yes, forty-five: he was teaching before some of his students' parents were born). He gives classes and retreats, and runs the Santosha centre in Jodoigne, Belgium.

I'm the one who builds things on computers, so I did what any slightly nerdy brother and son would do: I built them a tool. Planning a class meant flipping through books, old notes and half-remembered pose names. I wanted one simple place where they could find a pose, see it clearly, and line it up in a sequence without the headache.
Then the teachers at the centre started using it too, and we realised it could be useful for anyone who teaches, practises, or is simply curious. So we opened the doors (and added a gnome, because every garden needs a gnome). Santosha, by the way, is the Sanskrit word for contentment, which is pretty much the mood we're going for.
Why a gnome?
Because a gnome has never once forced a pose. Our garden keeper reminds us that yoga is about ease, presence and calm joy, not touching your toes by Friday. (Toes are optional. Mushrooms are encouraged.)
