Read what the gnome says
Fire Log! Sit with the shins stacked, one on top of the other, ankle over the opposite knee. Flex the feet to protect the knees. Keep the spine long, and fold forward only if it feels okay. Breathe, glowing log gnome. Use a blanket if needed.
Works on Glutes · Piriformis · Hip rotators
How to do it
- Sit with the legs crossed, shins stacked like logs, one directly over the other.
- Flex both feet and keep the ankles beyond the knees.
- Lengthen the spine, hinge forward from the hips if it feels right and hold; switch the crossing.
Common mistakes
- Don’t force the knees down: sit on a blanket.
- Don’t round the lower back.
- Don’t let the feet sickle: keep them flexed.
Benefits
- Releases tight hips and outer thighs.
- Eases stiffness from sitting and walking.
- A calm, grounding shape to breathe in.
Take care: Go easy or skip if you have knee or hip pain. Support the knees with a cushion or block and stop if you feel sharp pain.
Not medical advice. Ease off if anything feels sharp or wrong.
