Revolved Half Moon! From a standing split on one leg, lower the opposite hand to a block and twist the chest open toward the lifted leg. Stack the hips, flex the raised foot, gaze steady. Don't rush the twist. Breathe, balancing gnome of the night.
Works on Obliques · Glutes · Hamstrings
How to do it
- From a standing forward fold, shift the weight onto one foot and plant the opposite hand beneath the shoulder.
- Lift the back leg level with the hip and rotate the chest to open toward the side.
- Reach the top arm up, keep the standing knee soft and hold; switch sides.
Common mistakes
- Don’t lock the standing knee.
- Don’t dump the weight into the lower hand.
- Don’t let the lifted leg drop below the hip.
Benefits
- Gently mobilises the spine.
- Stretches the back, hips and shoulders.
- Leaves the back feeling fresh and long.
Take care: Go easy or skip if you have back or neck pain, or are pregnant. Twist from the whole spine, not by cranking the neck or lower back.
Not medical advice. Ease off if anything feels sharp or wrong.
