Read what the gnome says
Revolved Wide-Angle Pose! Sit with the legs wide, then twist toward one leg and reach the opposite hand to the foot. Feet flexed, knees pointing up, spine long. Twist from the middle, not the neck. Breathe, then switch. Open-minded gnome.
Works on Obliques · Adductors · Hamstrings
How to do it
- Sit with the legs wide, toes pointing up, spine tall.
- Turn the chest toward one leg and place the opposite hand on the shin or foot.
- Reach the other arm over the head, open the chest toward the sky and hold; switch sides.
Common mistakes
- Don’t round the back to reach the foot.
- Don’t let the knees roll inward.
- Don’t force the legs wider.
Benefits
- Gently mobilises the spine.
- Stretches the back, hips and shoulders.
- Leaves the back feeling fresh and long.
Take care: Go easy or skip if you have back or neck pain, or are pregnant. Twist from the whole spine, not by cranking the neck or lower back.
Not medical advice. Ease off if anything feels sharp or wrong.
